What We Do

The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Reference Group works to provide a collective

voice for the sector as a key influencer of local strategy and policy as well as to contribute to and support the development of local groups, communities and agencies and their work for the citizens of the Borough.

Members of the VCSERG are appointed by networks and organisations providing services to citizens across the Borough. Working in conjunction with the wider sector, those members use their knowledge and experience to consider local, regional and national matters impacting on the sector and the people it supports. The group works closely with the Council and other bodies, particularly through membership of Multi-Agency Partnership Boards, to ensure that the interests of VCSE, its beneficiaries and the wider communities of Solihull are represented in key strategic and policy decisions as well as seeking to address practical and developmental challenges faced by VCSE groups.

The VCSERG is a channel for communication and consultation both within the sector and between the sector and other bodies and seeks to make sure that whole VCSE sector, from small community groups to large, registered charities and everything in between, is able to have a voice in the life of Solihull.
